HOLLYWOOD — Just months after its high-profile debut, the Tesla Diner in Hollywood is undergoing a major shake-up. The retro-futuristic restaurant — part diner, part Supercharger hub — will convert to a full-service model after reports of menu cutbacks, long wait times, and operational hiccups.

Chef Eric Greenspan, who designed the original menu, has exited the project, adding to speculation that Tesla is rethinking the concept after early demand overwhelmed the kitchen and staff. The diner’s once-ambitious menu was slashed within weeks of opening, leaving customers with only a handful of sandwiches, pie slices, and shakes.
Employees say the transition to full table service is expected in January, marking a significant pivot for the neon-lit Hollywood attraction that initially promised a sleek blend of nostalgia and technology.
Despite the turbulence, the location remains a popular photo stop and nighttime landmark — and all eyes are now on Tesla’s next move as it races to reset the dining experiment in the heart of Hollywood.
